Awakenings

I often see the little messages around me in weird places.

Like this morning for example...

I woke up early, before my alarm around 3:40 am.

The extra 20 minutes gave me some time to sit and read + journal, and I ended up bringing

"The Book of Awakening", by Mark Nepo along to lead the 6 am Yoga class at Om My Yoga.

The reflection today was about finding courage in each breath you take.

How each exhale is like a tiny death, and each inhale reminds us that we are still alive.

I wasn't even thinking about seeing "Natural Awakenings" on the coffee table at the studio.

This month, I took a tiny leap of faith and decided to add my little business name to the classified section.

I know you're probably thinking this is no big deal, but for me, it's another tiny step into creating a vision long dreamed of.

It wasn't until I got home and unpacked my bag that it hit me...

A W A K E N I N G

Being present at that moment, it was suddenly all I could see.

Being open to receiving guidance through messages like this one presented an opportunity to pay attention.

What does it mean?

a·wak·en·ing /əˈwākəniNG/

noun 1. an act of waking from sleep. 2. an act or moment of becoming suddenly aware of something.

adjective 1. coming into existence or awareness.

It felt like a reinforcement of the reminder that each breath can bring us into awakening.

Awakening into presence can happen continuously, over and over and over again.

When we are awake, and when we are asleep.

We still come into existence with each and every breath.

  • Can we stay present for Awakening? How?

  • Can we notice the reinforcements in these messages happening constantly all around us? Where?

  • Can we utilize the breath as a tool to Awaken at the moment when we feel stressed? When?

  • Does this feel easy or challenging right now? Why?

Ironically, I felt called to lie down and take rest for 10 minutes after this experience.

Awakening to the moment, I felt tired and in need of rest.

And I did :D
